Review Central: African Pride Shea Butter Miracle Leave-In Conditioner
(Pstttt.. Sorry I haven’t made an original post for a while. School just started last week, and… well. I’m surprised, though, that nineteen people are interested in me and my hair. ._.)
And here comes my absolute favorite product, get ready for some raving. >.< After looking for months, I finally found a cheap product that is a great moisturizer (better in my opinion than Shea Moisture Curl and Style Milk) and has good ingredients. Introducing… Shea Butter Miracle Leave-In Conditioner, by African Pride.
Price: Up to 5.99 for a 15oz jar.

Usage Directions: Apply a generous amount in the palms of your hands. Smooth onto wet or damp hair. Work through gently from roots to end. Always finger comb to help loosen tangles and elongate curls. Excellent for use before blow-drying hair or using hooded dryer.
Natural Styling Suggestions: Allow hair to air dry to achieve a tighter natural curl pattern. To gt looser elongated curls, try blow drying while finger combing and twisting curls, For straighter styles use a diffuser or blow dry while gently brushing with a wide-tooth comb. My Opinion: Welp, y’all already know my opinion, but lemme elaborate. :| This product makes my hair soft and leaves it moisturized for days (so far I’ve tried three). I usually apply it as a moisturizer only. I’ve tried using it to do a twist-out before, with not much luck. My hair doesn’t respond well to wet products when twisting, though (it often turns out dry and tangled), so that may just be me. But when I use this product and let it soak in as per the usual, my hair is extremely moisturized. I never get flaking with this leave-in, which is a plus for me. My hair is very low porosity, so products that are too thick often flake in my hair. This leave-in is like a yogurt, thick but not too thick. The consistency is enough to moisturize sufficiently, but not so thick that it clumps and leaves residue. It’s easy to distribute and for me it usually soaks in quickly (which for me is within an hour and a half). It is an excellent detangler and keeps hair tangle-free. It also keeps curls elongated as it says. It brings out the curl pattern nicely and makes curls clump together and whatnot. It has great ingredients (although it does have dimethicone… I am NOT a strict follower of the curl method. I choose to look the only way and leave this one as my exception. I make it right by adding a little clarifying shampoo to my co-wash conditioner). I say this product probably works better for me overall than anything else I’ve ever used. Considering that it’s also inexpensive (I get it for 3.49 at Walmart!!!!!! Every time I go there I pick up another jar. I can never have enough of this ha ha) and comes in a fairly large jar (fifteen ounces), I say it’s a very good deal. I have yet to try the silky edges and moisturizing lotion and whatnot, but this product is my holy grail. PERFECT choice for the curl on a budget, especially those with low porosity hair and a need for some good moisture.
